Maryland Real Estate License: Sales Agent

Salesperson

  1. Meet the following requirements:
    1. Be of good character and reputation.
    2. Be at least 18 years old.
  2. Complete an approved 60-hour salesperson pre-licensing course.
    1. The school sends student completion information to PSI electronically upon successful completion of the course requirements. Your eligibility expires 1 year to the day from the course completion date.
    2. Students will receive an email confirmation from PSI with instructions on how to pay for and schedule the exam after the school has reported course completion.
      1. If qualifying for the exam with a Letter of Qualification (Waivers, Reciprocity, and Reinstatement applicants), you must provide the original letter of qualification (with raised seal) from the Maryland Real Estate Commission to PSI before you will be authorized to take the PSI exam.
  3. Pass both portions of the PSI Licensing Examination within 1 year of course completion.
  4. Obtain from a licensed real estate broker a commitment providing that the applicant shall become affiliated with the licensed real estate broker as a real estate salesperson on the granting of a real estate salesperson license to the applicant.
  5. After passing the exam, you may apply to the MD Real Estate Commission for a license. Once the Commission has verified that you have met all of the requirements for licensure, the Commission will issue the appropriate license.

Maryland Real Estate License: Broker

Every applicant for licensure as a real estate broker must complete 135 hours of pre-licensure education or 9 semester credit hours of instruction, with a semester credit hour defined as a minimum of 15 hours of instruction
