Getting Your Pennsylvania Real Estate License

Unemployment levels remain high all across Pennsylvania, and there are many people looking for a career opportunity that offers some security. One option is to pursue a higher education degree in the hope of landing a job in a career that will offer them an income they can survive on, and still be able to afford to repay the cost of the college degree. As long as you are at least 18 years of age, you are eligible for the real estate training necessary to apply for your Pennsylvania real estate license. In the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, applicants are required to complete 60 hours of real estate courses before they are able to apply for a Pennsylvania real estate license. Proof of the completion of the required education, including a passing grade on both sections of the exam, should be submitted to the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission along with the completed Pennsylvania real estate license application and the required fees.

After you have earned your Pennsylvania real estate license, you must complete 30-hours of post-licensing real estate courses. This course must be completed within the first year of licensure to maintain an active status of your Pennsylvania real estate license. Every consecutive year after there are 14-hours of continuing education required prior to the annual May 31 renewal deadline.
