Once all of the hard work has been done to successfully earn your Washington State real estate license, the education does not stop there. Part of staying on top of your game in real estate is to keep on the cutting edge of all of the latest trends and developments in the industry. The requirements for annual continuing education helps licensees keep up with everything and Washington real estate continuing education courses make it more convenient than ever.
The Washington State real estate licensing renewal requirements for the first year of licensure calls for a total of 60 hours of continuing education to maintain an active license. Of those hours, 30 of them should be in Real Estate Practice courses and the remaining 30 hours in other approved continuing education courses. These hours are to include the three hour prescribed core curriculum course that is mandatory at each renewal. Completing the 60 hours of required continuing education in the first year fulfills the continuing education requirement for the year and the regular annual course requirements will not apply.
After you have completed the first year renewal requirements, all subsequent renewals are only 30 hours of course work. This should again be including the three hour prescribed core curriculum class, required annually to maintain an active Washington State real estate license. It is important to be aware of the date of expiration on your license to ensure that you complete the continuing education on time. A license that has expired in invalid until the requirements have been met and the fees, including the late fee, are paid in full.
An invalid license has usually been surrendered by an agent that has chosen to not work in real estate for a period of time, but does not wish to lose their real estate license. Inactive licensees are not required to complete continuing education requirements as long as the license is to remain inactive. Once a licensee that has surrendered their license chooses to practice real estate once again, the continuing education courses will be necessary in order to apply for reactivation of their Washington real estate license.
Once the continuing education course work has been completed successfully, you can finish the renewal process online; simply login to the Washington State Department of Licensing’s website. You will have received a password with your license. Enter your continuing education course information and payment of the license renewal fee with a Visa or MasterCard debit card and you will receive a confirmation of your renewal that can be printed instantly.
Knowing when your license is set to expire is something to stay on top of at all times. Making certain that you are paying attention to your continuing education requirements is imperative to maintaining an active license. Online real estate continuing education courses can make it easy to meet your requirements at your own pace and on your own schedule. It is easier than ever to maintain your Washington real estate license online.
