Virginia Real Estate Appraiser License Requirements Get Your Virginia Appriaser License The Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Board has established the minimum educational requirements for an appraisal license. In lieu of the required degree, 21 Semester credit hours in the following subject matter courses: English Composition; Economics (Micro or Macro); Finance; Algebra, Geometry, or higher mathematics; Statistics; Computer Science; Business or Real Estate Law Exam: Required Certified General Real Estate Appraiser Education: 300 hours of appraisal education, including the 15-hour USPAP Experience: 3,000 hours of acceptable appraisal experience obtained in no fewer than 30 months, at least 50% of the appraisal experience (1,500 hours) must be in non-residential appraisal assignments College-level requirements: Bachelor Degree of higher.
