Maine Real Estate Appraiser License Requirements Get Your Maine Appriaser License The Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Board of Real Estate Appraisers, has established the minimum educational requirements for an appraisal license. In lieu of the required degree, 21 Semester credit hours in the following subject matter courses: English Composition; Economics (Micro or Macro); Finance; Algebra, Geometry, or higher mathematics; Statistics; Computer Science; Business or Real Estate Law Exam: Required Certified General Real Property Appraiser Education: 300 hour of appraisal education, including the 15-hour USPAP Experience: Must hold a valid license (trainee real property appraiser or licensed residential real property appraiser or certified residential real property appraiser) and complete 3,000 hours of experience in no fewer than 30 months College-level requirements: Bachelor's Degree or higher.
