Smart Phones and Tablet Computers Taking Education Delivery to the Next Level Share

ST. LOUIS, June 9 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile devices like smart phones and tablet computers are taking the world of education by storm. We've all watched online learning grow in popularity since the late 1990's with just about any kind of courseware now available via web delivery. And now, with the introduction of the iPad and other touch screen tablet devices, online learning is about to take another giant step toward anywhere, anytime learning.

American School of Real Estate Express, aka RealEstateExpress.com recently announced that all of its online real estate license and continuing education courses are available to run on any device with an internet browser - no apps are required. This includes the iPhone, iPad and iTouch. It also includes the Blackberry and any phone using the Android platform. This means that students can now study, take quizzes and real estate exams and interact with instructors from anywhere.

David Goldstein, the company's CTO explained: "The system we use for delivering real estate courses and testing online is perfectly suited to a small touch screen. The one drawback to tablets and smart phones is the awkwardness of typing on odd sized and formatted keypads. But there is no typing required in real estate express courses so in our case there is no issue."

Experts from the field of online learning tell us to expect a wave of educators adapting course and testing delivery for effective delivery on small touch screens. The appeal of true self-paced learning with no location limitations is too big to ignore.

Nation's Leading Career School Counters Rising Unemployment by Giving Away its Courses

Like a scene out of The Christmas Carol, The American School of Real Estate Express, known online as RealEstateExpress.com, has decided to give a leg up to those out of work during this tough time. With no strings attached, the school is giving away full-ride scholarships to the first 100 unemployed individuals who want to pursue a career in real estate.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) December 2, 2009 -- In the "feel good" story of the year, a prominent online career education company is challenging businesses of all sizes, in all industries, as John Kennedy did 50 years ago, to "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."

The owners of the company indicated they grew so tired of hearing negative news about the economy and the state of unemployment, that they decided to take matters into their own hands. David Goldstein, one of RealEstateExpress' co-founders and Chief Technology Officer advises, "Before the end of this year, RealEstateExpress plans to take 100 people from the rolls of the unemployed and re-engage them as productive members of the work force."

Adds Geoff Thompson, another of RealEstateExpress' co-founders and Chief Marketing Officer, "During this difficult time for our country, we intend to lead by example and we challenge other companies to do their part".

The United States has a long tradition of seeing small business as the driving force behind our Nation's prosperity. With more companies taking an active role like RealEstateExpress has, we can expect our recovery from this recession to come sooner rather than later.

Nation's Leading Career School Embraces Social Media to Connect With Its Customers

The American School of Real Estate Express, known online as RealEstateExpress.com, reports an increasing number of its customers are coming from Twitter and Facebook.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 4, 2009 -- The advent of Social Media has opened whole new avenues for online companies to connect with its customers.

David Goldstein, one of RealEstateExpress' co-founders and Chief Technology Officer indicates, "Marketing used to be the exclusive realm of our co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Geoff Thompson, but our realms are now overlapping." Goldstein and Thompson now collaborate regularly to develop marketing initiatives to reach Twitter and Facebook users.

The company has also developed new internal procedures around Social Media to more efficiently administer to those using these new forms of online communication. 'Twitter Specials' and 'Tweet Decks' are replacing mailers and the post office. A creative example is how they now deploy automated monitoring tools to seek out communications involving 'real estate' and 'online careers'. When these communication threads are discovered, RealEstateExpress offers the services of its online real estate school. Currently only a small portion of their business comes through Social Media avenues, but they see it as a growing area that is screaming to be served. RealEstateExpress also notes an interesting phenomenon occurring in the blogosphere where people are using their blogs to share feedback about their consumer experience. Lisa Medina, a recent RealEstateExpress graduate in California, used her blog to describe her experience with the company.

The advent of Social Media has necessitated other changes to his company, Goldstein adds, "We have integrated new processes and new language around Social Media. What shocks us is why some of our competitors aren't embracing this".

As a measure of the growing importance of Social Media for online companies, Geoff Thompson notes "When launched in 1996, it was all about the telephone. Today, our Career Specialists report that over 25% of all conversations are done digitally, through online chat and e-mail."

Online companies are being forced to look at how they market. Those companies that embrace and adopt Social Media are far more likely to succeed than those who continue to do things as they always have.

America's Leading Real Estate School Reports Dramatic Changes in Post-High School Career Paths

The American School of Real Estate Express, known online as RealEstateExpress.com, reports an increasing number of high school grads are inquiring about a career in real estate as an alternative to the traditional college career path.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 11, 2009 -- Inquiries to RealEstateExpress' online school increasingly relate to questions of age and eligibility requirements in regards to securing a real estate license. Their school rosters indicate young post-high schoolers are re-evaluating the traditional career path of college and seeking an alternative that is more expedient, less costly, and affords a faster way to make money.

RealEstateExpress.com also reports that brokers with whom they affiliate are seeking younger agents to connect with their younger buyer demographic. Aubrey Cohen, a reporter in Seattle, WA, notes, "Local brokers say they're reaching out to younger recruits." While Leslie Tyler, Zip Realty's vice president of marketing, notes, "Younger workers like to work in a team, like to have mentorship and support and have other options for career development. The Gen X and Gen Y consumers are a hot topic in real estate right now."

Representative of this younger agent is David Todd, an agent in Seattle, who indicates he uses different tools to communicate with the younger buyers; tools that some younger sellers like himself are aware of such as social networking, twitter, and texting. According to Todd, "Buyers in their 20s, I automatically assume that they want to text-message with me, that they want to instant message, that they want to use technology. People who are older, I give them the option."

Says Geoff Thompson, one of RealEstateExpress' owners, "If this trend continues, we should expect to see a much younger, much hipper, much more technologically enabled real estate agent.

Enrollments up 68 Percent at America's Leading Real Estate School

Enrollments at The American School of Real Estate Express, known online as RealEstateExpress.com, are up 68% since the beginning of the year, forecasting many's opinion that real estate is the place to be in 2009.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) April 23, 2009 -- A few factors seem to be contributing to this movement toward securing a career as a real estate agent. Firstly, since 2006, most states have seen the ranks of realtors decline by at least 50%. With fewer agents pursing the collective commission pool, there may be greater profit potential than ever before. Secondly, no industry offers as fast or as low a cost of entry, with as great a profit potential, as real estate.

Says Geoff Thompson, one of RealEstateExpress' owners, "We were one of the forerunners of online education in the US in the mid 1990's and we have never seen such a rush toward online education as we are seeing now." Thompson adds, "Online real estate course registrations in March of this year reached their highest level in company history. People are sensing the real estate market has bottomed - and we appear to be poised for a turnaround."

Recent study demonstrates The Fastest Way to a New Career is likely in the field of Real Estate

With the unemployment rate reaching shocking new levels and the urgency for career solutions that don't require years to ramp up, many are taking a second look at a career in real estate. Sound crazy? Actually it makes perfect sense.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 15, 2009 -- Companies that provide online real estate education note the following reasons for this career rotation into real estate:

  • A Fast Start - it requires only about 4 weeks of education
  • A Low Cost - Tuition is generally less than $300
  • A Great High-Paying Job - You're practically guaranteed to get a job where you can earn $50,000 in the first year

Geoffrey Thompson, one of the founders of the online real estate education company, RealEstateExpress.com notes, "There is no career path that allows you to train so rapidly, and start the income rolling in so quickly, as that of a real estate professional. In most states, you can take your entire training curriculum online, and finish in less than 30 days!"

When compared with other careers one can attain online, such as medical biller, paralegal, secretary, or any of the 2-4 year degreed professions, none can offer such short training or immediate payback. Most of these non real estate alternatives range from 1-4 years of education and cost between 3 - 10 times the cost of becoming a real estate agent. Mr. Thompson's company, The American School of Real Estate Express, has posted a comparison of the top ten careers one can get attain online compared with becoming a real estate agent. That comparison, seen here, provides compelling evidence to support his assertions.

What is as convincing as Mr. Thompson's data is the 2,500 aspiring real estate professionals who, in the last few months of 2008, took the real estate licensing exam in New York City alone. Mr. Thompson asks, "What are these 2,500 future real estate agents saying? They are saying that a new career in real estate makes perfect sense."

National Provider of Online Education, RealEstateExpress.com, Now Approved to Offer Online Real Estate Education in Nevada and Tennessee

The American School of RealEstateExpress, known online as RealEstateExpress.com, was recently approved by the real estate commissions in Nevada and Tennessee to offer online real estate education in their states.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) February 6, 2009 -- The American School of RealEstateExpress is now approved to deliver 100% Internet-based training and/or exam prep in almost all the major states that allow it. Their library of courses has expanded to include real estate Pre License, Post License, Broker, and Continuing Education courses, as well as Exam Prep systems.

RealEstateExpress.com was one of the first providers of online real estate education in the US and paved the way for the online education market to expand rapidly from the late 90's to the booming industry it has become today.

Geoffrey Thompson, one of the founders of RealEstateExpress.com notes "Who likes sitting in those cold, claustrophobic classrooms? Plus today, realtors have zero extra time, which is why online education has become so popular in this industry." Using award-winning instructors who meet their students online, RealEstateExpress has trained hundreds of thousands of real estate professionals using 100% internet delivery. Thompson adds, "The beauty of online education is there are no student desks, no bad coffee, and no driving to a school. You can even train in your pajamas!"

81 Year Old Trains Online to Begin New Real Estate Career

Have you ever heard people say they were too far along in years to start a new career? Have you also heard that computers are hard to learn if you haven't grown up with them?

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) January 2, 2009 -- Here is a story that blows those stereotypes out of the water. Earlier this year, 81 year young Violet Stegall of St. Louis, MO decided to start a new career in real estate. Violet loves people. She loves to manage her own time and she loves to be physically and mentally active, "What better career than a Real Estate agent?", said Violet.

And since much of the research that agents do is on computers, Violet realized she "needed to learn a bit more about computers". What better way, thought Violet, than to do her real estate agent licensing training on the internet? Violet found a company in Missouri called RealEstateExpress.com. "I have no background in computers", said Violet, "and really didn't know much more than how to turn the computer on. But it didn't matter; the staff at RealEstateExpress.com walked me through everything I needed to know to complete my training. And I never had to leave my house. If I needed help, I would just call them. They became my friends and supporters. In fact, when I passed my state licensing exam, they sent me a card."

Violet is now a licensed real estate agent near St. Louis, MO. At last check, she was on her way to a closing on New Year's Eve - impressive for the 81 year old rookie! More and more seniors are getting into second careers to earn a little extra money or just to stay active.

RealEstateExpress.com recognized this and has courses specifically designed for those wishing to serve the senior market. They have also redesigned their website so that even a customer with no computer experience can easily complete their online real estate training. For those who think they are too old to start something new, don't admit that in front of Violet or you will hear her story, loud and proud.

Midwestern Real Estate Education Provider Is Bucking This Market

Midwestern Real Estate Education Company is not just surviving in this market, they are growing. What is their secret? No surprises, just some fundamental business management 101.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 22, 2008 -- RealEstateExpress.com sells online real estate education, including licensing and continuing education for real estate agents across the US. First, they had the foresight to remain debt free and sock away a sizable chuck of earnings for just such an opportunity. In the midst of this economy, most companies are not finding much opportunity. " Opportunity indeed!", says Geoff Thompson, one of the company's owners. "We are using this downturn in the real estate market to significantly re-invest in the breadth and depth of our online real estate library. We are expanding from 14 states to 20 for our core product offering and expanding into several related fields; Appraisal, Financial Services and Insurance."

"Secondly, we have also had to get more creative about how to find our customers", says Thompson. RealEstateExpress.com is entering into creative partnerships with real estate brokers and Colleges. "It's a win-win says Thompson. They gain new agents and students while we expand our customer base". Thompson adds that no potential customer is off their radar. "Our 75,000 plus customers have included the likes of 81 year old Violet Stegal, Specialist First Class Jeremy Godboldt stationed in Iraq, sailors aboard US aircraft carriers, and probably your neighbor down the street. Challenging times call for creative minds", insists Thompson.

RealEstateExpress.com has also re-designed their web site and made numerous other technology and process improvements to make things even easier for students.

As Thompson says, "We hear everybody moaning about the market. At RealEstateExpress.com, we are investing in our future and any company, large or small, that intends to thrive in the years to come, better be thinking the same way. Frankly, we are excited about the turnaround. When? We don't know. But when it does, we will be ready for lift off."

Midwest Real Estate School is Forecasting a Market Turnaround

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) October 11, 2008 -- In the midst of one of the worst financial crises our nation has seen since the Great Depression, a national provider of state-approved online real estate licensing courses is making a huge investment in its future and encouraging those who are considering a career in real estate to do the same. For the last few months, American School of Real Estate Express (known on the internet as RealEstateExpress.com) has been telling prospective students that “now is the time to get your real estate license in preparation for the next big upswing in real estate”. Company executives acknowledge the economy is struggling but when it turns around, some very smart, forward thinking people stand to make a lot of money. RealEstateExpress.com is strongly encouraging people to put themselves in a position to benefit from the start of the next real estate upswing by getting licensed now.

RealEstateExpress.com has been offering online real estate license courses and real estate exam prep since 1997. They were among the first real estate schools in the country to make the jump from classroom to online education. Since then they have helped close to 100,000 become licensed real estate professionals.

David Goldstein, one of the company's owners tells us, “About a year and a half ago we sensed this downward trend was approaching. Like most others we didn’t realize that it would go this deep or that it would last this long. Many experts tell us that the true bottom may not come until late Spring 2009. But those same experts also tell us that the next boom will begin at the same time and that it will be big.”

The American School of Real Estate Express has taken a proactive approach during the months of this downward trend and has made significant investment in the expansion of the company. This has meant opening schools in additional states - almost doubling the number of states they serve.

They have also just completed a massive re-design of their website and education delivery system. The new site is easier to use, more visually appealing and filled with helpful information for those investigating a career in real estate.

They have also produced 2 videos encouraging those considering a career in real estate to get licensed now. These videos are being widely distributed on the internet and can be found on YouTube.com among others.

This has all come at a high price at a time when enrollments in real estate school have seen a steep decline and revenues for real estate schools are down. But this is the point, often the time to prepare for the next upswing is exactly when things are at their worst. It may seem risky, and it may be a little risky, but as they say “no risk, no reward”. Those who take a little risk are almost certain to see big rewards very soon.

RealEstateExpress.com isn’t just talking the talk, they are walking the walk. When they say that “now is the time to make the investment in a new career” they are putting their money where their mouth is.
