Stephen Mettling
Stephen Mettling, CDEI – Steve is the Dean of Instruction and Curriculum for Steve has authored over 75 real estate texts, books and training programs including Principles of Real Estate Practice which is used by He has also directed real estate schools in 10 states in addition to helping build, acquire and manage the country’s largest real estate, securities and insurance licensing network. In addition to Steve’s work at, he runs his custom real estate training and development company.

Steve’s role at includes overseeing the instructional staff, contributing to the support of the current course catalogue and giving insight and input to the development of new courses. Steve is devoted to his students’ success.
Penny Alston
Penny Alston, B.S., DREI, GRI – Penny is licensed as a sales associate and instructor in Florida and Utah. Her past work has included curriculum director for a prelicense school, exam writer and subject matter expert reviewer of national real estate exam content for Pearson Vue. Beyond her instructing duties for, Penny is also a faculty member for the Florida Association of Realtors® Institute.

Penny pays great attention to the details of her students’ questions and comments as well as the courses she instructs for. She is continually giving feedback and input to make sure her answers are clearly communicated. Penny’s committed service to her students is apparent in every contact.
Dave Deverman
David W. Deverman, GRI,CRS,CDEI, DREI,CREI,SOREP – Dave has been licensed in Real Estate since 1971. He is a Broker & Certified Residential Appraiser. He has worked as a salesperson, trainer, manager, Appraiser and Broker/Owner. His education background is a Bachelor degree in both Accounting & Secondary Education. His designations include GRI, CRS, DREI and SOREP (Society of Real Estate Professionals), USPAP Approved Instructor (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice). He has also served as President of the Grand Rapids Association of REALTORS in 1993 and was REALTOR of the Year for Grand Rapids in 1990.

Dave believes in being involved in his profession. He has and currently serves on local, state and national committees. He has also served as adjunct faculty for both Grand Valley University and Grand Rapids Community College. He is currently an instructor for Michigan & Ohio Association of REALTORS. Dave actively lists, sells and appraises besides consulting with attorneys on both real estate and appraisal issues. His experience and education in taxation, 1031 exchanges and appraisals allows him to share real life with his students.
Marilyn Glazer
Marilyn Glazer, GRI, CRS, CRB, PMN, M.S.Ed – Marilyn has remarkable credentials in real estate education as well as holding her real estate broker’s license in Illinois. Not only has Marilyn been an instructor for pre-licensing and continuing education in real estate, but she has also authored several continuing education courses that are used throughout the real estate industry today.

Marilyn has an exceptional ability to help the students drill through extraneous information to fully understand the essence of what is being asked of them. Her skills at helping the students focus on the important subjects are essential to alleviating test taking anxieties that may cause a student to “cram” for all of the wrong info. Marilyn is dedicated to helping her students reach their full potential.
Joy Stanfill
Joy Stanfill, e-PRO, RECS, CDEI – Joy has had a far-reaching career in real estate that includes over 20 years of teaching experience, including 8 years in Missouri. She is also a licensed broker in Missouri and Illinois. She has held a Sales Manager/Managing Broker position while concurrently serving the brokerage as the Director of Education. Joy has authored, marketed and delivered courses in various markets.

Because of Joy's background in real estate education, she is well-equipped to understand the needs of her students and equally well prepared to offer practical guidance that will serve them well once they are licensed. Her licensing experience in many states uniquely qualifies Joy to offer a broad range of experience to her students. This enables Joy to help direct the students studying efforts should they become overwhelmed with the material presented to them. Her pledge to the success of each student is apparent with every interaction.
Bill Wilkis
Bill Wilkis, CDEI, ABR, ABRM, CNE, CRS, GRI, MHV, PHC, SRES, e-Pro – Bill has been licensed in Nevada since 1989. In addition to his vast experience as a licensed broker and a licensed instructor, Bill has also been a member and/or chair of various professional development committees with the Nevada Association of REALTORS® and the Reno/Sparks Association of REALTORS®. In addition to his instructional role at, Bill continues to instruct for both Associations as well.

Bill works hard to understand the students’ perspectives so that he can fully answer their questions and offer clarification. He keeps himself abreast of any pertinent law changes affecting the states he instructs in so that he has the most up-to-date information at his disposal. Bill is steadfast in helping his students achieve the most of their courses.

Michael Sunoo - Michael Sunoo is an attorney whose practice areas include: Real Estate/Construction Laws; Family Law; Elder Law; Business Law; Securities Law; Personal Injuries; Litigation; and Criminal Defense. When he is not busy practicing law, Michael is busy teaching graduate and undergraduate students at Daniels College of Business, University of Denver, where he has been an Adjunct Professor since 2001.

Michael holds a BSBA degree from University of Denver, an MA degree from Denver Seminary, and a JD from College of Law, University of Denver. He is also a licensed real estate broker in Colorado and California. Prior to practicing law, Michael worked as an Investment Analyst for Merrill Lynch from 1997-2001. He held NASD Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses.

If Michael is not attending to his law practice, or students, he is advising Teen Challenge of the Rocky Mountains, a comprehensive faith-based residential recovery program, where he serves on the Board of Directors. Finally, Michael is an appointed member of the Board of Adjustment of City of Lone Tree where he renders decisions on variance applications from property owners.

Richard L. Barden resides in Franklin, NC where he has lived since 1974. Growing up in Miami, Fl he attended college at both the University of Florida and the University of Miami, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance and later in 1968 with a law degree. After leaving Miami he taught at Southwestern Community College in Sylva, NC where he was the Chairperson of the Real Estate Department and a lead instructor in both the accounting and business administration departments. Richard holds a real estate broker’s license in NC and is a certified real estate instructor in NC and several other states. After retiring from the college he became the Director of the Cumbie Institute School of Real Estate in Asheville, NC. While at Cumbie he taught real estate licensure and was repeatedly recognized by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission for outstanding personal and school pass rates. Richard has been with Real Estate Express since 2010 and is an online real estate instructor for licensure courses in Tennessee. Along with teaching, he currently develops and writes real estate course materials. Besides a career in real estate and education Richard loves his family, sailing, skiing and Dobermans.

Dan Hamilton, GRI, CREI, ITI, - Dan has had years of experience owning his own real estate business. Dan developed the Hamilton Real Estate Education School. He is a certified lead trainer for Licensure and Renewal, Certified by the Texas Real Estate Commission to teach all CORE courses. He has logged over 23,000 hours teaching Real Estate SAE Courses and over 7,000 hours in Real Estate MCE courses.

He is the author and co-author of several books that are currently in use throughout the real estate industry and are distributed both nationally as well as internationally. He served on the board of the national Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) and was the 2011 President of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association (TRETA).

Arlys Spiker- Arlys began her real estate career in 1995 and became a real estate broker in 1998. She began passing on her extensive knowledge to others as an accomplished classroom instructor for pre licensing, post license education and continuing education in 2000. Arlys’s experience includes acting as the director of education for a large real estate firm for many years, member of the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and the Greater Tulsa Association of Realtors Education committees and Secretary and President of the Oklahoma Real Estate Educator’s Association. Currently, Arlys is the managing broker for the largest real estate sales office in the state of Oklahoma.

Arlys’s training experience and leadership style focuses on developing individual agents helping them to succeed, grow and prosper in an ever changing marketplace.

Jolita (Jo) Brazzano , MS Ed, GRI, e-Pro, TRC, RSPS, SRES, ALHS, CDPE, HAFA, AHWD - Jo is a Real Estate Broker Associate, REALTOR® and Owner of Palms Real Estate Education Center in a Partnership with the Watson School of Real Estate in Palm Coast. She works in residential sales and specializes in Condominium/Homeowner’s Association (SOC) sales and real estate requirements. Retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1999, Jolita has a background in analysis, trends, training, teaching, technology and administration processes, which she has continued to develop and refine.

She has worked in international corporations and in small business, and has created the websites she uses in her real estate business and for her school. Jo has written and teaches various courses from technology to real estate brokerage management. She has earned various certifications and designations in real estate and continuously works to enhance her knowledge of business and practices as they apply to real estate and law.
